Denis Manturov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, to discuss the deepening of cooperation between the two nations. This high-level meeting focused on enhancing collaboration across critical sectors, including trade, economic relations, energy, and connectivity.
In the meeting, Prime Minister Modi expressed his appreciation for the ongoing and concerted efforts by both Indian and Russian teams in implementing key decisions aimed at advancing the India-Russia “Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership.” These decisions follow the commitments made during recent engagements between Prime Minister Modi and President Vladimir Putin, underscoring a shared vision for strengthened bilateral relations.
Prime Minister Modi also extended warm greetings to President Putin, highlighting the importance of the sustained India-Russia partnership and looking forward to continued exchanges with the Russian leader.
Deputy Prime Minister Manturov’s visit underscores Russia’s interest in reinforcing economic ties with India, which remains a vital partner in the region. The discussions signal both nations’ commitment to leveraging their long-standing relationship to foster greater economic and geopolitical cooperation in a rapidly changing world.
Sharing a post on ‘X,’ PM Modi wrote, “Glad to meet Russia’s First Deputy PM Denis Manturov today. Happy to see that teams on both sides are working together to implement decisions taken during my recent visits and meetings with President Putin to further strengthen India-Russia Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership.”
On Tuesday, First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov will join External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar in New Delhi for the 25th Session of the Intergovernmental Russian-Indian Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Cultural Cooperation, as announced by the Russian Embassy in India.
The session will review the progress of existing bilateral initiatives and explore new avenues for cooperation. Manturov is also set to hold a series of high-level meetings with key Indian leaders to further discussions on strategic partnership and cooperation.
Last month, Prime Minister Modi attended the BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia, under Moscow’s presidency. During the summit, PM Modi participated in two sessions, describing the gathering as “very productive” and extending his gratitude to President Putin, the Russian government, and its citizens for their warm hospitality.
Earlier in his third term, PM Modi made a bilateral visit to Russia, where he attended the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit with President Putin. During this visit, he was honored with Russia’s prestigious “Order of Saint Andrew the Apostle” for his efforts in strengthening India-Russia relations.
