
Inauguration of Investment Summit and Launch of Women Empowerment Schemes Highlight Upcoming Visit
J. Roy, New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to embark on an important visit to Rajasthan and Haryana on December 9, 2024, to inaugurate significant initiatives aimed at boosting investment and empowering women in the region.
The Prime Minister will commence his visit in Jaipur, Rajasthan, at approximately 10:30 AM, where he will inaugurate the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024 at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC). Following the inauguration, Modi will address the attendees and outline the event’s vision, emphasizing the central theme, ‘Replete, Responsible, Ready.’ This three-day summit is set to showcase 12 thematic sessions covering vital areas such as water security, sustainable mining, and inclusive tourism, among others.
In addition to the thematic sessions, the summit will also feature participation from over 32 countries, including 16 partner countries, in discussions about topics like ‘Water Management for Livable Cities’ and ‘Trade & Tourism.’ A Pravasi Rajasthani Conclave and MSME Conclave will run concurrently, fostering connections between businesses and stakeholders. The Rajasthan Global Business Expo will present thematic pavilions, showcasing innovations and opportunities for entrepreneurs.
Later in the day, Prime Minister Modi will travel to Panipat, Haryana, where he will launch the Bima Sakhi Yojana, a Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) initiative aimed at promoting women’s empowerment and financial inclusion. Designed for women aged 18-70 with at least a Class X education, the program will provide training and a stipend for three years, preparing them to become LIC agents and potentially Development Officers within the corporation. During the event, the Prime Minister will distribute appointment certificates to newly recruited Bima Sakhis.
Furthermore, Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Main Campus of Maharana Pratap Horticultural University in Karnal, which will be developed at a cost exceeding ₹700 crore. The university will encompass one College of Horticulture for graduate and postgraduate studies and establish six regional research stations over a sprawling 495 acres, focusing on agricultural diversification and state-of-the-art horticultural research.
