Prominent political figures, including U.S. Congressman Brad Sherman and British MP Priti Patel, have expressed their deep concern over the deteriorating situation faced by the Hindu community in Bangladesh.
As reports of violence and attacks against Hindus have surfaced, Congressman Sherman firmly stated that the government of Bangladesh holds full responsibility for ensuring the safety of its Hindu citizens. He highlighted the instability following the removal of the democratically elected Sheikh Hasina government, suggesting that the current situation is not conducive to the protection of vulnerable communities.
In an equally strong statement, MP Priti Patel condemned the attacks in Bangladesh as “insensitive and terrorizing.” She urged the Bangladesh government to take immediate actions to safeguard the rights of Hindus, particularly their right to religious freedom.
