Income Tax Department Takes a Stand Against Black Money in Delhi Assembly Elections 2025

24/7 Control Room and Toll-Free Number Launched to Report Suspicious Activity

AB News, New Delhi: In a decisive move to curb the influence of black money in the upcoming Delhi Legislative Assembly Elections 2025, the Income Tax Department is urging residents to actively participate in ensuring a clean and fair electoral process. This initiative, in collaboration with the Election Commission of India, reflects the department’s commitment to maintaining electoral integrity.

To facilitate this effort, the Directorate of Income Tax (Investigation), Delhi, has implemented several measures aimed at monitoring the flow of unaccounted cash, bullion, and other valuables that may be unlawfully utilized during elections. These arrangements will be in place throughout the Model Code of Conduct, specifically within the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

24/7 Control Room Established

As part of its vigilance strategy, the Directorate has established a 24/7 Control Room located at Civic Centre, New Delhi. This facility is equipped to handle reports regarding any suspicious movement or distribution of cash, bullion, and precious metals associated with the elections.

The Control Room will be operational from the announcement date of the Delhi Legislative Assembly Elections 2025 until the conclusion of the electoral process. In a spirit of collaboration, the Income Tax Department is appealing to all citizens to share actionable and credible information regarding any suspicious financial activities during this critical period.
