CWG 2030: India Submits Bid to Host Commonwealth Games 2030 in Ahmedabad

Aiming to Host the Prestigious Event Again After 2010, India Seeks to Elevate Its Sports Legacy

AB News Desk: India has submitted a bid to host the Commonwealth Games in 2030. A source from the Sports Ministry informed the PTI news agency that the deadline for submitting documents indicating interest in hosting the games was March 31. If India’s bid is accepted, the Commonwealth Games will be held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat in 2030.

 IOA and Gujarat Submit Joint Bid

According to sources, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) sent the necessary documents for the bid a few days ago. A source confirmed, “Yes, it is true that India’s bid has been submitted by the IOA and the state of Gujarat together.” If India’s bid is successful, it will be a significant occasion for sports enthusiasts in the country.

 India Last Hosted the CWG in 2010

Previously, India hosted the Commonwealth Games in 2010, which took place in Delhi. At that time, the event was successfully organized, earning global recognition for India’s capacity to host sports events. Recently, Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya mentioned that the country is actively interested in hosting more sports events.

 Goal: To Host the 2036 Olympics

India’s long-term goal includes hosting the Olympic Games in 2036. If the 2030 Commonwealth Games are successfully organized, it will assist India in better preparing for the potential opportunity to host the Olympics.
