Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi Inspires Future Military Leaders at MILIT, Pune

AB Desk, New Delhi: The prestigious Mehra Auditorium at the Military Institute of Technology (MILIT), Pune, was charged with energy and vision as Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Upendra Dwivedi, addressed officers undergoing the Defence Services Technical Staff Course (DSTSC). His address, centered on leadership, adaptability, and innovation, left a profound impact on the next generation of military leaders.

General Dwivedi highlighted the rapidly evolving landscape of modern warfare, emphasizing the importance of staying ahead of technological and strategic changes. He described defence preparedness as a dynamic blend of art and science, requiring versatility, adaptability and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

The COAS detailed the transformational initiatives being undertaken by the Indian Army to meet emerging threats and challenges. He urged the officers to lead with resolve, reimagine strategies and embrace innovation to strengthen India’s military might.

Praising the Indian Army’s contributions beyond combat, General Dwivedi spoke with pride about its humanitarian role during natural disasters and evacuations from conflict zones, showcasing the force’s tactical brilliance and compassion.

He also stressed the importance of military-diplomatic synergy, emphasizing unity, operational readiness, and strategic alignment as the bedrock of a formidable defence system. Calling for a paradigm shift in military thinking, he inspired the officers to redefine tools and techniques for future warfare.

Acknowledging MILIT’s significant role, General Dwivedi commended the institute for shaping leaders not only for India but also for Friendly Foreign Countries (FFCs). He hailed MILIT as a center of excellence that forges leaders with intellect, character, and vision.

Rear Admiral Nelson D’Souza, NM, Commandant of MILIT, expressed gratitude for the COAS’s visit, stating that his words reignited a sense of purpose among faculty and students alike, guiding them to new heights in service to the nation.
