Amrit Udyan Set to Open for Public Visits from February 2, 2025

Explore the Lavish Gardens of Rashtrapati Bhavan as They Welcome Visitors for a Limited Time

Arjoon Roy, AB News, New Delhi: The picturesque Amrit Udyan, nestled within the grounds of Rashtrapati Bhavan, is preparing to welcome visitors from February 2 to March 30, 2025. This rejuvenating greenscape, once reserved for select guests, will be open to the public six days a week—Tuesday through Sunday—from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Notably, Mondays will be set aside for essential maintenance work.

While the opening of this beautiful garden is highly anticipated, visitors should be mindful of certain closure dates: it will not be open on February 5 due to the polling for the Delhi Legislative Assembly, on February 20 and 21 for the Visitors’ Conference at Rashtrapati Bhavan and on March 14 for Holi celebrations.

To facilitate easy access to the Udyan, entry will be through Gate No. 35 of the President’s Estate, conveniently located near the intersection of North Avenue and Rashtrapati Bhavan. A complimentary shuttle bus service will run every 30 minutes from Central Secretariat Metro Station to Gate No. 35 between 9:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., ensuring a hassle-free experience for all visitors.

Special access days are also scheduled for various groups to allow them to fully enjoy the beauty of Amrit Udyan. These special days include:

– March 26 – Dedicated to differently-abled individuals

– March 27 – Open for defence personnel, paramilitary forces, and police

– March 28 – A day for women and members of tribal women’s self-help groups (SHGs)

– March 29 – Special access for senior citizens

Entry to the Amrit Udyan is free, and visitors can book their slots online via Rashtrapati Bhavan’s official website ( https://visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in/). Walk-in entries will also be accepted, allowing spontaneous visits.

In addition to its opening, Rashtrapati Bhavan will also host the “Vividhta Ka Amrit Mahotsav” from March 6 to 9, 2025. This cultural festivity will spotlight the rich heritage and vibrant traditions of Southern India, making it a perfect opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in the locale’s diversity and artistic expression.

As the time approaches for Amrit Udyan’s public opening, excitement builds among nature enthusiasts and cultural explorers alike, making it a must-visit spot for anyone seeking to experience the serene beauty and historical significance of this esteemed garden.
